As announced by Daimler Truck AG in July 2023, a new OFTP2 system will be implemented for this connection from October. The parameters are now available so OS4X development can begin to make this change as easy as possible for you. We will make a suitable OS4X update available before the deadline (October 23, 2023), which will automatically make all configuration adjustments at the push of a button. So you don’t have to plan your own adjustments; we implement them.

Adjustment of system requirements

openSSL 1.1.1 reached its “end of life” on September 11, 2023, so we are relying on the successor version 3. This also has an impact on the MySQL database library used, as only an updated MySQL version can use the updated openSSL version. As a result, we have to adjust the system requirements of OS4X. It affects the basic GLIBC of Linux, which is easily covered by modern installations. With the next OS4X release, GLIBC from version 2.28 (available since October 2018) is required. All customers with Linux distributions prior to August 2018 have the option to purchase “openSSL Premium Level Support” for US$50,000, which makes it possible to receive security updates for openSSL version 1.1.1 (we believe this unrealistic, if you still consider it please get in touch with us).
